How do you calculate the length of a fence?

Last Updated on July 20, 2022 by Fence_Expert

Before you start measuring, mark your corner posts by placing a stake where the fence panels meet at a 90 degree angle Measure the distance between each pair of corners with a 100 foot tape measure. To get linear footage, count the panels you want to color and multiply by 6 or 8 (depending on the distance on your fence). Standard panels are around six to eight feet tall.

When you work with a fence installation company, they do the measurement for you and can even help you confirm property lines.
